Dosage & Side Effects
Modafinil dosage
Dosage Recommendations for Modafinil
Each pill of Modalert or Modvigil sold by us contains 200 mg of pure modafinil. We believe 200mg is quite strong by new users and hence we suggest new modafinil users to split the pill in halves.
For new users 100mg should be more than enough to give the required modafinil rush, wakefulness and focus. Long-term users may go for the full 200mg dose for best effects.
We strongly suggest avoiding an excess of over 300mg per day. It is essential that each person knows his personal tolerance levels and understands how well his body responds to the product. The onset of Modalert kicks in about 1 hour after consumption with peak performance lasting from 6 to 8 hours.

Armodafinil dosage
Dosage Recommendations for Armodafinil
  • The recommended dose of Armodafinil is 150 mg taken once a day in the morning or early afternoon with a glass of water except in the case of shift work sleep disorder (SWSD), where it should be taken approximately 1 hour before work.
  • Doses of up to 300 mg per day in a single dose or split into two doses of 150 mg have been well tolerated. While some people benefit from the increased dosage, others have reported no additional benefit beyond that of a single dose.
  • Armodafinil is non-addictive and the potential of suffering severe or even moderately adverse reactions is extremely low.
  • Clinical trials which involve taking high doses for extended periods of time indicate that no long-term damage occurs and there are no recorded cases of overdose.
Modafinil side effects
Side-Effects of Modafinil
Modafinil is generally considered to be one of the most efficient psychological stimulants, partly due to it's lacking any serious side effects. While the amount of people reporting side effects is low, they do exist. For this reason, caution should be exercised when consuming modafinil or armodafinil for the first time, mainly to rule out the danger of allergic reactions. It is important to note that if you are prescribed modafinil by your doctor, he or she likely believes the benefits of using it will far outweigh any of the potential side effects.
Common Side Effects
Common side effects of this drug include anxiety, dizziness, headache, nausea and disturbance to one’s sleep. If you experience one or more of these side effects for an extended period of time, consult your doctor. There are a few more serious, though rare, side effects which include changes to one’s mental state or mood, agitation, confusion, depression, hallucinations and other forms of distorted thinking.
Should you experience any of the following symptoms, call emergency medical services immediately: accelerated and/or uneven heartbeat, chest pain or any signs of infection, such as a fever or continuous sore throat.
There have been few cases of allergic reactions, which include (but are not limited to) the following: blisters or peeling of the skin, itching or swelling (especially around the face, tongue or throat), skin rash, severe dizziness or heavy breathing. When discussing this drug with your doctor, it is important to let them know if you have any previous or existing illnesses that affect your blood pressure, cardiac or liver problems, kidney problems or any mental disorders. You should also inform your doctor of any drug or alcohol abuse issues.
Interaction with Other Drugs
Before taking modafinil, it is important to inform your doctor of any other prescribed or non-prescribed drugs or herbal supplements you are currently taking so that you can avoid any potential adverse reactions. In particular, it is important to mention whether or not you are taking any drugs that lower blood pressure (including beta-blockers), anticoagulants like Warfarin or drugs that would affect your hepatic enzyme activity (i.e. activity that would speed the process of eliminating drugs from your system), such as rifabutin and phenobarbital.
There is a possibility that modafinil may speed up or slow down the production of enzymes by the liver, which help excrete other drugs from the body. If you are taking certain antidepressants, this might also influence their effectiveness. In particular, MAO (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) antidepressants do not mix well with Modafinil. It is suggested to stop their use two weeks prior, during and after use of mdafinil to avoid serious problems.
Modafinil can inhibit the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives like the birth control pill, patch or ring, so it would be wise to use an alternative form of birth control during your time on modafinil and up to 1 month afterwards in order to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Be wary of cold medications that contain ingredients like pseudoephederine or ephedra, as they may lead to increased heart rate and higher blood pressure. Likewise, ingesting high levels of caffeine in conjunction with modafinil will have the same effects.
